Fuel Filters

Fuel filters are components in your vehicle that help to remove particles from the gasoline used by your engine.  The fuel filter is located near the fuel line in your Mercedes and helps to prevent particles from getting into the fuel injection system. Fuel filters are made of a pleated permeable material that allow them to catch any kind of particles that might be harmful to your car. Changing the fuel filter on a regular basis is important to ensure that the gasoline used by your engine is as clean as possible. If not, there can be problems that arise. There are some signs of a failing fuel filter that you can pay attention to that might indicate you need to replace yours sooner. An overall lack in engine power, for example, can be caused by a lack of fuel getting through to the injectors. This can be easily caused by a dirty fuel filter. It's worth checking your filter to see if it is excessively dirty or even clogged. If you find that your engine is straining or stalling, it could also be from a lack of fuel coming through.
